The first ride
So today I went on my first ride of the season. Wow, I am out of shape! I went 5 miles in 25 min! I've gotten fat. I bought this bike the year that I got home from my mission, in '03. It is a LookKG76, and when I tried to find a pic on google, nothing, my best guess is this is a 1991 model. I bought it for $325 with down tube shifters. My props to anyone who can still ride with those effectively. I upgraded to Shimano 105's, I've had a few saddles, right now I have a SelleItilia Flite, very nice for me. I'm riding on Hutchinson tires wrapped around my Mavic wheels. I really like this bike. I wouldn't mind an upgrade, and Jenn says that I can get one, but right now, this is great; one day I will drop a grand for a new one. But back to my ride. I went up 900 S. to Foothill over to 1300 S. and up to the golf course. Up behind the zoo, and then home down 900 S. That was almost 5 miles dead on, and that took me 25 minutes, wow. I look forward to this season, I intend to get back into shape, and get my back, legs, and body back to where it has been in years past. I love biking! I really do. When I got up to Larkin tonight, my quads were screaming at me, I knew that I had to cut my original ride down so that I could walk tomorrow. I stopped for a drink, and to clear my throat, and then got back in the saddle and didn't stop until I got home. Just like that I got my first fix of the season, and I want to hit the road every day! Jenn was so kind. I had told her that if I got home in time I would go for a ride. She put pressure in my tires, and got my clothes out for me and said hurry your losing sun light almost the moment I got home! How did I get such a wonderful wife? She is too good to me. Wow, I love biking! I love Jennifer, I love biking with Jennifer. I love biking.
